Film Night - Tuesday 10 February - SUCCESS!
The STACC Winter Public Meeting this year is in a different format - a film night! We will be showing the documentary 'Bicycle', issued last year and very well received. The film tells the story of cycling in Britain, weaving in bicycle design, sport and transport. The film is 86 minutes long
The screening is in the Council Chamber, St Albans District Council Offices, St Peters Street, St Albans. Doors open 7.15pm for 7.30pm start. Admission is free, donations towards the cost of the screening can be made.
UPDATE: we were a bit nervous, as putting on a film show does incur significant outlay. But when there were already ten people in the room at ten past seven, and all seats were taken by seven thirty, we were very glad we had given it a go. We had some very positive feedback. The film packs a lot in, with Chris Boardman in particular spanning from athletic effort (the Barcelona Olympic Gold Medal on the Lotus superbike, designed by Mike Burrows, also featured in the film) to everyday cycling.

I think we should run film nights more often, they bring in a lot of people who wouldn't normally come along.
