May is National Walking Month

www.livingstreets.org.uk/nwmIt makes sense for a cycling campaign to also support walking initiatives.  Many of the benefits of walking and cycling to get around are the same: - a more enjoyable way to travel, especially for old and young; thinner waist and thicker wallet; good for your mental and physical health and well being; great for getting to know the delights of your local area that people in cars are unaware of, poor things; environmentally friendly, so good for everyone.
Cycling is non-weight-bearing exercise, so spares the joints, which is a good thing.  But that means it is not doing anything for your bone density, which is not so good.  So walking is good for cyclists!
