Wow! Hidden Hertfordshire! Our ride leader Doug is known for his extensive knowledge of tracks and byways, but even so this ride surpassed my expectation. Even places you think you know, something new is revealed.
The hidden gem this evening was the former de Havilland airfield, now being managed back to a natural state. Picture highlights below. To round off the evening, delicious hot dogs back at Earthworks.

| Oh dear, and difficult gates to negotiate. Yes, this route is permitted for cycling, but the gate is just fractionally too short / narrow to get a bike through. The metal kissing gates on the site perimeter do not require acrobatics like this. |
