Bike Week organised bike rides 15th-23rd June
Bike week is a celebration of cycling in the UK. STACC is running several events and there are many bike rides being organised. Here's the ride programme:
Saturday 15th June “5 Miles to Fabulous” CTC introductory event for women only.
An escorted gentle morning ride with coffee break. Meet at Morrisons cycle parking (Hatfield Road) for a 9-30 start. For more info phone. 01727-836470
Saturday 15th June “Saturday Saunter”
Short relaxed introductory morning ride by CTC leaders, say15 miles. Turn up at Morrisons for coffee at 9-30 for a 10-00 start

Sunday 16th June “Chiltern Challenge”
Regular CTC ride, 50 - 60 miles in the Chilterns,.
Meet at St. Albans War Memorial, St Peters St for a 9-00am start.
At a steady pace, all welcome. 11’s, lunch and tea planned.

Tuesday 18th June “For your Pleasure”
Choice of alternative Forty Plus Cycling Club escorted rides:
a) 20-25 mile led ride to a convivial pub lunch. and return, easy pace.
b) similar 30-35 mile expedition, slightly more ambitious,
Meet for either at Morrisons car park (Hatfield Rd) for a 10-30 am start.

Wednesday 19th June “Evening all”
Regular CTC evening ride of about 17 miles,ending up at the White Lion, Sopwell Lane, St Albans at 9 pm. Meet at the War memorial in St Peters St., outside Blacksmiths Arms at 7-30 pm.
Evening ride- bring your lights!
Thursday 20th June “For your Leisure”
An easy introduction to cycling; share a sociable 40 Plus Club event. Meet for coffee at the Green Man, Sandridge at 11-00, followed by a short ride for a convivial pub lunch.

Thursday 20th June “Easy does it”
An escorted gentle 5 mile evening event (mainly off road) to suit families, from the Earthworks Garden site in Hixberry Lane, from 18-00 onwards.

Saturday 22nd June “Another Saturday Saunter”
A further CTC led morning ride, no more than 15 miles, easy paced. Meet at the Inn on the Park, Verulamium Park at 9-30 for 10-00 start.

Sunday 23rd June “Scarp Escape”
CTC’s regular Club run of 50 – 60 miles to the western limits of Hertfordshire (at a steady pace) with planned refreshment venues.
Meet at the War Memorial in St Peters St. for a 9-00 am start. All welcome.

Sunday 23rd June “Shenley revisited’
A family afternoon escorted outing to Shenley Park (with café and a fine play space) from Highfield Park car park. Meet at 13-30 (back by 17-00)

Sunday 23rd June “Ride 4aReason”
Verulam Cycle Club’s annual event for anyone over 14, with a choice of 25, 33, 44 or 66 miles. Venue: Woolams Pavilion, Woolams Playing Fields, St Albans, off the Harpenden Rd. Starts from 8-00 onwards, anticipated finish at 4-00 pm. Signed and marshalled routes.
