Local charity rides this summer

Another event has been added to the list for this summer, so we're now up to three:

SACCR St Albans Rotary Charity Cycle Ride
The longest-established ride, SACCR raises money for a group of charities. 10, 20, 30 and 40 mile routes starting and finishing at Oaklands college. Entry  £15 for adults, youth and senior £10 until 11 May (£1.50 booking fee online) and £20/£15 afterwards. Well marshalled with technical support at the start from Herts Cycle Tech  and mobile from Harpenden Cycles. STACC are planning to run a stall too.

Herts Cycle Chellenge is new this year with 10 and 50 mile courses starting and finishing at the Old Albanians sports club. Supported by South Herts CTC and raising money for Grove House. Entry £14.50 for adults and £6 for children if booked before 30 April, increasing to £17.50 and £8.50 afterwards.

Ride for a reason is slated to run on 23 June but their website seems to have vanished this week. From memory ride distances were 20,40 and 64 miles with cheap entry of less than £10. The ride was supported by the Verulam cycle club with mechanical support from Rock and Road. This post will be updated with full details once they are available.

The latter two rides happen during Bike Week. Watch out for a full list of events coming out soon.
