Alban Way interest

You have until 6th April to visit the excellent exhibition in the community room at the Museum of St Albans on Hatfield Road.  The exhibition is called Bringing the History of Smallford Station to Life.  Fascinating stuff, with pictures of the Alban Way down the years from the 1860s.
No vegetation whatsoever in railway days, all open views, which puts a perspective on the current adverse reactions to selective clearing of trees and scrub along the Alban Way to create and maintain a more diverse set of habitats for flora, fauna and people.
